Where in the world are Phillis and Michelle

A few months ago two of my sisters went off traveling the world (without me). I only know this because our mother told me and I got this picture in the mail. This post card was taken at their jumping off point for their final destination.
I had my mom to tell me where it was, could you tell from this picture? I will give you a hint, their destination is linked to dragons . . .

  6. Stuart you are a trouper, you have put out the effort on this one and I appreciate it.

    OK here is the real answer;
    the picture is of Quito Ecuador
    it is the jumping off point for people going to the Galapagos Islands which is where Phillis and Michelle spent most of their time.

    The Galapagos Islands are famous for their Komodo "Dragons" and the HMS "Beagle" who brought Charles Darwin to them. There he developed his "natural selcetion" theory

  7. All correct, except the spelling of my name. That would be PhYllis. What should I expect though, even Mom spelled it wrong once - Phyliss
